Desert Wedding + Kendra & Paul

A Wonderful collaboration with amazing vendors and artist! I had dreamed of this Desert shoot for a long time.  Great photographers let the landscape inspire them.  Needless to say we were all very inspired that day.  Quite the contrast from the lush beachy California, one would expect some heat, some sun and dryness.  Yet luck would have it that it rained on our glorious shoot.  Rather then letting the wet and cold bum us out, we decided to make the best of it.  The results were unique and spectacular!

Thank you vendors//

Maiden's Fern, A Styled Photoshoot

Beautiful things when you have creative friends who call you saying, "I've got left over flowers lets make something."  So why not!  A wonderful collaborative work with Kim Watasuki of www.flowerstory.us make up and hair by Christopher Tolentino www.christophertolentino.com  Models Carol Scheffler  and Amber Marie Meyers as a spin young Marie Antoniette.  Wardrobe by Ibi http://www.missibiss.com/

My favorite movies growing up were anything made my Sofia Coppola.  So for this shoot she was my inspiration along with the beautiful flowers and conceptual make up.

Le voyageur Le intrigué

He's a tall and handsome Frenchmen.  He seeks to travel the world and be worldly.  He lives off his charms and social talents.  He will never find himself in a cold bed alone. He will become the quintessential man of mystery in intrigue we all need to know about and wish we were, but never become.  I see is bags and I wonder where is he jetting off to next?  I want to come too.  But I am now wrought with a sense of the responsibility adults are told to carry.  So I say hello and hear a swash buckling story he offers over a drink at the bar and I go on my way. Happy to know he is out there and I was lucky enough to meet him.

Frocks and Fur

Malina + David Engagement Session

Malina came to me wanting a documentary styled shoot.  So we started the day bright and early in bed with coffee and the dogs in their gorgeous Height and Ashbury apartment.  We took a stroll through the Ferry building, stopping by Cowgirl Creamery and other tasty spots for a few needed purchases.  Dim Sum at Yang Sing, then swooped up the furry babies to Fort Funston, also known as dog heaven and hand gliders haven.  The sweetest ending to the day was drinks at where they met;  A bar called bloodhound.  This was a great western meets artistic atmosphere that was most befitting to this dynamic duo.

Spending the day with this fun and quirky couple and their sweet furry babies, the photos came out timeless.  Capturing all their little smirks, smiles and laughter with each other, one can really see what forever with someone looks like.

Petals to Posh

So my good friend an amazing florist Kim Wakatsuki called me up to help her with a bit of a photo project.  She often makes beautiful bouquets to showcase to blushing brides.  But after the flowers have no where to be, no awe to be had.  Like having a beautiful ball gown with no soiree to go to.  Sad indeed.  So I was happy enough to take a tiny bit of time out of my day to help capture her beautiful creations before it wilted in the California summer heat.

She greets me excited and gleeful, so proud of herself, as she shares her creation story.  Mauve roses that were as timeless as ever.  Some green vines she added as accents but ironically were just weeded trash to be thrown out.  She rescued them that morning from the landscaper and gave them renewed life in the bundle of wedding flowers.  They indeed, at least to us, stood out as stars of the show.  Their small but slight green contribution enhanced the overall bouquet completely.
